The Opportunity
We’ve been retained by the Managing Director and Head of LIHTC Investments of a large Global Investment and Syndication firm with a national footprint that is looking to hire a Senior Director of Investor Relations and Capital Raising. They are looking for someone who is well-known in the LIHTC industry with strengths in communication and relationship cultivation and management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong network and relationships with Banks and Insurance companies focused in the LIHTC space as well as Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae and hands-on experience executing at the upper tier. You would report directly to the Managing Director and have the opportunity to mentor and oversee support staff and work closely with their internal Fund Management team. The successful candidate will develop new investor relationships and manage existing relationships for the company’s LIHTC platform and funds.
Scope of Responsibility:

Responsible for developing and implementing the sales strategy for LIHTC funds, attracting new investors to the company and building the company’s brand and reputation within the LIHTC industry

Proactively cultivate new investor relationships and manage/lead existing relationships for LIHTC funds

Drive the growth of the LIHTC platform through expansion of the investor base

Execute with a solid understanding of the company’s investment strategy and operational functions to effectively respond to investor requests

Monitor LIHTC market conditions for buy and sell side activities, including legislative updates
-
Participate in the creation of LIHTC funds through direct collaboration with the LIHTC Production team and work closely with the Fund Management team

Attend conferences and other industry-related events to increase visibility and improve the market impact of the company’s brand

Collaborate and work closely with multiple internal teams (Compliance, Marketing, Sales, etc.) as well as external partners and service providers to formulate marketing campaigns and strategies for existing and new initiatives

Successfully manage major communications to clients throughout all stages of the investment life cycle

Review and negotiate legal agreements to ensure terms are align with client expectations

Lead all aspects of the investor closing process to ensure all requisite approvals are obtained to effectuate a timely closing of investments

Supervise staff in accordance with the RIA policies and procedures

Provide regular updates to management/senior leadership regarding new client leads and potential new opportunities

Regular travel to meet with prospective and existing clients and implement the sales strategy
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or graduate degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate or a related field

10 years of LIHTC experience, preferably with a LIHTC Syndicator or financial institution

Hands-on Investor Relations and Capital Raising experience in the LIHTC industry

Excellent communication and writing skills as well as advanced sales, interpersonal and organizational skills

Proven ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and accomplish tasks with little oversight

Strong LIHTC investment competence, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Skilled in Microsoft Office and basic structuring of LIHTC transactions
